Privacy Policy
Effective 12 October 2026
Bumzy is built so that your pet's records stay with you. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours holding your records. This policy explains what the app stores, where it lives, what leaves your device, and what bumzy.app keeps when you use Memories from others.
1. What Bumzy stores
Bumzy stores what you enter: your pets' profiles and photos, health logs, vitals, medications and doses, vaccinations, appointments, reminders and emergency details, plus a single owner profile for you. If you use Forever, it also stores the memories, stories, voice notes, kind words and settings you add there.
Bumzy never asks you to create an account, choose a password or sign in.
2. Where it lives
Everything is kept in a database on your device.
If iCloud is turned on for Bumzy, the same records are synced to your private iCloud database so they follow you to your other devices. That database belongs to your Apple Account: Apple encrypts it, and the developer cannot access it. If iCloud is unavailable, Bumzy simply works on the device alone.
If you use the Bumzy watch app, a summary of your pets and their reminders is sent directly from your iPhone to your Apple Watch, and nowhere else.
3. What leaves your device
Bumzy contains no analytics or advertising software and no third-party SDKs. Only these things leave your device, and only as described:
- AI stays on your device. AI Vet, and Forever's life story drafts and kind-act wording, run on Apple's on-device model. Your questions, your pet's records and your memories are processed on the phone and are not sent to Apple, to us, or to anyone else.
- The support list. When you open Talk to someone, Bumzy may fetch the current list of support services from bumzy.app, at most once a day. It is a plain request with no account, no cookies, no identifier and nothing about you or your pet. If it fails, the list kept on your phone is shown.
- Memories from others. Only if you create an invite link: your pet's name, your first name, the message you write and the cover photo you choose are sent to bumzy.app so the people you share the link with can see them. Section 4 explains what happens next.
- Tips and past purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple tells the app which Bumzy purchases this Apple Account has made; we never see your name, address or payment details.
- Notifications are local. Reminders, and the Forever notifications you choose to turn on, are scheduled on your device. Bumzy itself never sends push notifications, though iCloud sync uses Apple's silent notifications to stay up to date. Forever notifications show only a short fixed sentence with, at most, your pet's name.
Anything you export or share goes only where you choose to send it.
4. Memories from others (bumzy.app)
An invite link lets family and friends send you a memory of your pet from any web browser, without an account. bumzy.app is run for Bumzy on Cloudflare, which hosts it as our service provider. bumzy.app runs on Cloudflare's global network, so information may be processed outside Australia.
- A link is a long random code. It stops working after 30 days, after 50 memories, or as soon as you turn it off.
- People who use your link see only your pet's name, the cover photo you chose, your message and your first name.
- They can send their name, how they knew your pet, a memory of up to 1,000 characters and up to 3 photos. We never ask for an email address or any other contact detail.
- Their memories wait for you. Nothing appears in Bumzy until you tap Keep. When you keep one, it is copied to your phone (and, if you allow it, its photos are added to your photo library, in a Bumzy Memories album when Bumzy can see your library) and deleted from bumzy.app as soon as your phone can reach it.
- A memory you choose not to keep is deleted from bumzy.app when you say so. Any memory still waiting 30 days after it was sent is deleted automatically.
- Photos are kept on bumzy.app exactly as they were sent, which can include where they were taken, until they are kept, let go or 30 days pass. When kept, Bumzy makes new copies on the owner's iPhone without that information.
- Turning a link off removes its cover photo at once. The link's own details (your pet's name, your first name and your message) are deleted 30 days after it expires or is turned off. Delete Forever data in the app deletes everything bumzy.app holds for that pet.
- bumzy.app does not store IP addresses. To stop misuse, it keeps salted one-way codes made from the address a request comes from, only to count, hour by hour, new invite links, every attempt to send a memory and the memories sent. A code cannot be turned back into the address, and each one is removed within about a day. Cloudflare may process connection data under its own policy to run and protect the service.
- bumzy.app sets no cookies and runs no scripts, trackers or analytics.
If you sent a memory and want it removed before the person you sent it to has seen it, email us at the address below with the pet's name and roughly when you sent it.
5. Optional permissions
Each one is asked for only when you first use the feature that needs it, and you can change any of them at any time in the Settings app.
- Photos: when you add a picture to a pet, a health log or a memory. Bumzy keeps a small copy with that record; videos stay in your library and are never copied.
- Add to Photos: the first time you keep a memory someone sent you. Bumzy adds kept photos to your photo library (in a Bumzy Memories album when Bumzy can see your library).
- Camera: only if you use the breath counter. The video stays on your phone and is never saved.
- Microphone: when you record a voice note for a memory. The recording stays with that memory.
- Notifications: for care reminders, and for the Forever notifications you choose.
- Location: when you turn on seasonal reminders. Bumzy takes a single coarse reading to work out which hemisphere you are in, and does not keep it.
6. Deleting your data
Because there is no account, there is nothing to close. Delete a pet in the app to remove its records, or use Delete Forever data in Forever settings to remove a pet's Forever memories, here and on bumzy.app. Delete the app to remove everything on the device.
To clear the synced copy as well, remove Bumzy's data under Settings › Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Storage, or turn iCloud off for Bumzy before you delete the app.
7. Children
Bumzy is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version ships inside the app, this page is updated, and the date at the top changes.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy, or about your data, go to the developer directly: anthony.stark@mail.com.
